Who said black and navy don’t go together?

I rescued this amazing Victorian chair from an uncertain future and decided to give it a new lease of life, showing what can be done with a little creativity.

The chair has such gorgeous carved detail that is really unique to the Victorian period. You can see this around the top and also on the arm rests. The shape of the wings is also a dead give away of the time period, originally the chair wings were created to block out the draft on a cold night, but became a staple due to their aesthetic and comfort quality.

The fabric I chose is from UK designer Emma J Shipley’s Krueger collection. I just love the contrast!
